Frequently Asked Questions

It is an isolation transformer that provides reliable voltage regulation. Our inherent quality provides a high degree of secondary voltage stability (regulation) during a brief period of overload condition (a.k.a “inrush current”).

They are designed to provide rated output voltage at full VA. If the load decreases, the output voltage rises. If the load increases, the output voltage decreases.

Simply put, it is about what size fuse or circuit breaker one would choose.
Many of our products have circuit breakers. In HVAC applications looking to determine which size fuse one would use, the technician with a 75 VA, 24 volt transformer would use the following formula. Using this formula, a 75 VA rated 24 volt transformer has a maximum load of 3.125 amps.

  • 75 VA ÷ 24 volts = 3.125 amps. Therefore this circuit would be fused at a 3 amp fuse.

This is a broad question but general instructions are supplied in each transformer box. It depends on application and for that information we suggest either calling us for help or search the Web or YouTube as there is good instruction available.
